Testing at Reese Road: What do You Need to Know?
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) Form Level 7 is administered to our first grade students usually in September of each year. The assessment consists of three domains—Verbal, Quantitative, and Non-Verbal that are used to evaluate student's cognitive ability. There are a total of 136 questions. Therefore, each section can be given separately or all together. The test is administered by the teacher who reads the instructions to the students. They choose an answer that consists of images for each question. Additionally, the test includes an optional section (Sentence Completion). Although the test does not include academic material previously covered by the teacher, the student's ability to problem-solve and reason skills are evaluated.
